Do you remember the age of illustrated strips? You could buy a comic every week and it would have six or more individual stories running, two pages each with a cliffhanger.
I read an illustration strip once where an astronaut crash-lands on what appears a bleak and distant planet. He survives all the bizarre and unnatural weather, freak gravitational effects and weird lighting without loosing his cool. Then he accidentally pulls up one of the local vegetation, a plant, and it has been planted in a common garden flowerpot, the red clay sort you buy at a garden centre and it totally freaks him out… breaks him. I like the idea of that impossible clash of realities… the ‘what if’.
This is a ‘what if’ story.
