I've been living here over a year now. It's probably time I took a photo of my desk as it is now.

Those rabbits crowding the drawing board are "my assistants" and that's Tuesday's upcoming comic sat on the board.

Welcome to the desk of a overworked creative

My writing segment, as you will note it is rather packed.

The main desk, this is where one spends most of ones time.

Photo of the PS/1, Cats and Foxes

Another shot showing the surprise xmas present we got last xmas. I'm quite sure that this gift was, in the main, given to drive me mad (glossy + fingerprints + colour inaccurate screen = fun).

Office Hifi, Cat, Bunny and laptops.

My SGI, Manics CD's (and 7in) and Hat.

EDIT- 70" should read 70's, dam tiredness

Since I started this thread I might as well update it! We bought a new house last year. Here's my new "space" on the top floor:

I call it the "Bat Cave"!

I think it's pretty. Smile

Pretty and less narrow then my workspace (although "cozy" would be a friendlier word for it.)

Wow... you guys have a heck of a lot more stuff than me. I'd probably have more if I were in my own home, but... guest family and all, I need to not have a ton of stuff and kinda' need to keep the place clean. I would just like to add that the decorations are not mine at all. If it were my place there'd be posters of the joker and captain maggot on the walls and the bookcase would be packed with books and other nonsense.

In unrelated news, why isn't there an 'official introductions' thread? That way I don't feel like a spammer posting on here and I can read through and see who all else is on this board.

The toilet paper is my cheap replacement for tissues/kleenexes. I'm a poor person so I have a PC and GIMP. 2 cellphones because one is for the US and one is for Germany. I would just have one but the international roaming rates for the US one are outrageous.

Sleeping mask because the garbage station is right outside my window and people think that 4 am is a good time to take the trash out.

Oh my goodness, is that the C64X?

Well, since I moved house 18 months or so ago, I thought it was about time I updated my entry in this list. Here's my new office, from many angles.

No, it' the real thing - an original C64 fitted with an itx-board. The floppy-drive contains the dvd-recorder. A friend of mine did build several ones quite some time before the C64X was released. Means that I am using the authentic keyboard, that is quite different from the layout, but much better in quality, even after almost 30 years. Full description and some more pics are here:

I like it minimal. I also prefer a standing desk.

When I'm too lazy to stand, I'll take the laptop out and plop it onto the coffee table, and sit on the floor next to it. It's a bit messy right now so no photos.

Damn! You have a real nice desk there. I have a sweet old-fashion desk made of solid, heavy wood that is unfortunately in storage right now. I'm currently on some cheap $70 Walmart dealie that I'm keeping together with duct tape and wishful thinking.

So for the last few weeks I've been slowly upgrading my various spaces, and finally got my studio/home office organized the way I like it. So since I realize I hadn't posted a new shot of my new setup in Seattle (after having moved, oh, two years ago), here's a nice panoramic shot of it. (Click to embiggen.)

The MacBook and G5 tower have been long since replaced by a Mac mini (which is hiding behind the 27" monitor) and a Synology DiskStation, respectively, and the ancient Intuos2 is about to be finally retired and replaced with an Intuos5. Also I just built that desk a few days ago by bolting my old desk's legs to a butcher block. It's awesome.

I also have way more music gear than before (but this is primarily a music studio, so that stands to reason).

Oh, and two cats, but if you read my comics you already knew that.

(And to answer wendyw's question from years ago, the guitar that's visible in both pictures is an Epiphone Sheraton II. And now you can see my 8 other guitars as well...)
