I think it might be easier to support each other and build more of a presence on twitter if we all post links to our twitter accounts here, followed and followed back, and added to webcomic lists.

a tumblr. is fine too.

I second that idea.

My personal twitter is @hipopotamo. I tweet about technology, geekiness and comics. Ups! It is mostly in Spanish, but I'll tweet in English when replying to English-speaking tweeters. Feel free to babelfish my tweets!

The Girls' twitter is @M9Girls. My characters tweet in first person, also mostly in Spanish... but they might switch to English if enough followers join. Eventually I'll set up separate accounts for the Girls to tweet in each language.

It is, but it's much more useful for exposure and driving traffic to your site--at least in my experience--because it's more widely used as a social network by non-comicers, non-bloggers, and people like that. In other words, a lot of people who are fans of stuff use tumblr. which is exactly who you want to see your work.

I haven't gotten into tumblr account yet since I do all my blogging on my comic page it feels mildly redundant. How much a difference traffic wise does having a tumblr account separate from your regular blog do for your visibility?

tumblr. gets a me a few hits every day. Like any social network, its efficacy depends entriely on how you use it.

Generally, I don't post comics there--I just use it to network and to post my writing/illustration. However, it does help build visibility for the comics as my tumblr. posts earn followers who then, hopefully, follow my links.

Lots of people who use tumblr. are the types who are into comics, so that's part of why I'm sure to have links back to my comic projects (and do post some of it) there.
