Just curious to see who is planning to attend SDCC this year. I'll be there but without a table or anything (I'll probably apply to get a table for 2012). I'll be going some mix of Wed/Thurs/Fri/Sat if anyone wants to meet up.
Anyone else going? I know Zombie Ranch and Flying Sparks will be there but other than that, I don't know of any TWCLers that will be in attendance. _________________  |

Yes, Dawn and I will be exhibiting for the entire Con at Table K-4 in the Small Press area. If you happen to walk by you should see the Zombie Ranch banner, otherwise in the actual schedule we'll be listed under the name "Lab Reject Studios".

I'll be there, but only Saturday and Sunday. I'll be at the Arcana Comics booth (booth 2415) promoting Blood, Shells, & Roses. Sat I'll probably be at the booth all day as I've always hated trying to walk around SDCC on Sat. Sun I'll try to catch everything I can.
Times I'll HAVE to be at the booth for signings:
Saturday – July 23rd
11:00 AM – 11:45 AM
03:00 PM – 03:45 PM
06:00 PM – 06:45 PM
Sunday – July 24th
12:00 PM – 12:45 PM

Even if there was time for love on the exhibit floor, it would be very dangerous and sweaty, and the security staff would likely frown upon it.
Oddly enough though, Saturday hasn't seemed as bad the past couple years as it was circa 2008 or so. I don't know if that's because SDCC stopped selling passes on-site or all the returning people just decided en masse they were going to stay away from the hall on that day.
I mean, it's still f-ing crowded, but I think last year Friday was the day I was fighting to breathe. _________________ |

That's good to know, Clint. I used to live in SD and went to Con several times but haven't been there in close to a decade. In my experience, Saturday was a nightmare dating back to my first con in 1995 or whenever it was. _________________ |

Good to meet everyone I met, which I believe was rocketpig, TBROtomo, and RussSpruce. Alex, I don't think we hooked up, but it was a pretty hectic five days for me.

It was great to meet you too, Clint. Did you see the small write-up I gave you over at ComicRelated? I hope it helped you get a few clicks. Hard to say since it's my first work over there.
Now that I have my first SDCC as a professional out of the way, I'm looking forward to next year where I'll have a clearer idea of what needs to be done.
PS. I'm glad you warned me about the freebie table. You were totally right and you saved me a bunch of money because I ended up only putting a few out on Thursday to gauge traffic. Once I realized it had almost zero impact, I held all the rest back for myself and future cons where they will do me more good. _________________ |
