|
|
UPDATE: My new comic is go! Read about it at the bottom of the page.
-------------------------------------
Note: I've already announced this in a couple of other places, but I'm also mentioning it here for the benefit of a few people who don't follow my own news feed regularly, but whom it may still interest.
This is to announce that The Artiste Manquée will be ending soon (and yes I do mean ending, not going on hiatus forever). It's been nearly 2 years and a lot of fun, and a heartfelt thanks goes out to everyone who read and enjoyed it, and supported me. I'm in the midst of planning another webcomic (something much different!), so you'll definitely see me again. In the meantime, enjoy the remainder of TAM for about two more months.
Cheers,
Simon[/b] _________________

It's sad to hear that your comic is ending, but I'm glad that you have something new in the works. Let us know when you start it!

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Now that that's out of the way, I've really been enjoying the comic.
Good luck with the new project. _________________

Why is it that the good ones always end and yet Penny Arcade is still going strong? Is there no justice in the webcomic universe? _________________ |

The negative energy given off by people whining about those more successful than themselves gives them comic-cancer and they die. _________________ Traitorfish.deviantART |

If it will squelch the negative and rhetorical banter from those who do not understand the concept of a "joke" and seek to ruin this otherwise joyous celebration of the life of one of my favorite comics, I fully
rescend my comment about Penny Arcade. Obviously they are far superior to all the rest of us combined, as are their diehard fans.
Now, can we get back to being sad about the comic I'll actually miss? Or do we need more pointless drama? _________________ |

It takes wisdom to plan on ending a comic, rather than letting it slowly fade away. I applaud you for thinking your series exit through. _________________ Joe Chiappetta - Read Silly Daddy comics at http://sillydaddy.net

I seem to have hit a sore spot, there. It may be worth noting, at this point, that I'm British. Snarky, ironic criticism is like shaking hands to us. It's best not to take it personally. _________________ Traitorfish.deviantART |

Proper ending... or just up and ending it... without closure?

It's true. Most of my best friendships have involved mocking each others personal habits. |
You should hear me and my brother... police were called on us once because people thought it was a "domestic disturbance". _________________

Well I'm back, and don't say I never keep my promises.
My new comic, titled Sakana No Sadness, has now officially launched (which hopefully means I'll be around here a little more as well)! It's a humor/sci-fi graphic novel-type of thing, updating weekly on Mondays. Here's a little summary to pique your interest:
| Quote: | Hideo, a brilliant yet socially inept and reclusive shut-in, has not left his parents' basement apartment in 13 years. To combat his loneliness while still avoiding all human contact, he has spent years constructing a female humanoid robot to be his de facto girlfriend. The completion of Hideo's steely sweetheart is an exciting event... that is, until she awakens and behaves completely differently from the way he programmed her.
Not keen on the idea of serving forever as the plaything of a perverse basement-dweller, Hideo's would-be mechanical mistress takes charge of the bizarre situation she's been wired into. When she forces Hideo to face his worst fear - the outside world - things start to get ugly, and fast. Soon enough, Hideo finds himself embroiled in the devious plans of an organization of sinister yet eerily familiar people, whose ultimate goal has implications not just for his own island nation, but the rest of the world of tomorrow as well. It's a darkly humorous adventure in which one man sees his wildest dreams come gloriously true and crumble spectacularly at the same time... the only upside is that they may have just been childish fantasies all along. |
Having just launched this week it's still in its infancy, so I'm not promoting it too heavily just yet. Consider this announcement the early bird special, and keep watching for much more in the weeks to come.
