Hello! When I was living in Korea, three shows were really popular. First, MacGyver (every kid got the mullet cut). Second, Knight Rider (everyone drove black cars). And... V!

The show "V" aired this week. I was pretty excited, and I was looking forward to this remake. However, I got mixed reviews when I spoke to my friends. Apparently the show "V" wasn't that big in the States.

Anyways, what's your take on "V"? did you think it'll flop? or will it go strong? Any reply appreciated! Smile

Mixed feelings.
One the one hand it looked good and I was entertained. There was even some of the old series vibe and it did it justice so far on certain points (THE SPACESHIPS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE WHITE AND BLOCKY! NOOOO *cough* sorry), on the other hand it seemed faster paced than the original. They immediately jumped to the lizard people and the story of the original series can be told in 3 episodes if they keep this up. I was also going to mention that they blond chick was a bit too pretty and the leader chick looked weird, but that's kind of the point, isn't it?
I think they did ok with the cast, and just give me something with shiny special effects (bravo on the motherships) and I'll stare at it, so well done there too.

By the way, no idea how the original series was received here, I lived in France at the time and it was pretty big there (along with McGyver, the A-Team, Knight Rider and the whole obligatory set of copies).

We are Hollywood, and we ran out of ideas before any of you were born.

I thought the same thing that they jumped ahead way to fast. Hi we're aliens. Peace dude. Ah lizards. But the ship is cool. And Wash is a badguy. I'll give it some time, only 3 more eps til it's first break.

My knowledge of the larger culture of the time is pretty fuzzy, but I think V was fairly popular here in the States at the time; not third-place-after-Knight-Rider big, but pretty well known.

I thought it was pretty good. Very slick. But I agree, I think they got to the resistance stuff a little too quickly. Plus I don't like the visitors uniforms, I wanted them to be red Smile

Why do you think the Visitors failed in the first miniseries? They were all red shirts.

yeah, I agree with all of you. I thought it was pretty good. Visuals were there, aliens were hot (in an eerie way), and some action. But, yeah, it was too fast paced. Resistance already? hmmmm... it's gonna be short lived unless they do something about it. I heard that the writers only wrote 4-5 episodes, and is waiting to see if the show draws the more crowd or not.

I enjoyed watching it though some of the writing was kinda off...the FBI mom wasn't as 'distant' to her son as he was portraying her and the speed of unveiling the resistance seemed a little rushed.
But it has potential.
Another episode is tonight! Give it a few...it might surprise people. Personally, I would be glad for any decent sci fi on TV. It has been too long *sniff* Crying or Very sad
